M13 Hercules Cluster. First DSO shot. Three 15 second shots stacked. I'm not happy with the sharpness. I over sharpened the shot to bring out the details. Shot with a Canon 1DMKIII attached to a Celestron C11 mounted on a Losmandy G11. We just gave the G-11 a complete overhaul the evening before and the tracking is way better. We'll get better. I promise!
Vega Tracking Test
Date: 09/04/07
Five minute test shot to verify the tracking is accurate. This shot seems to verify that our tracking is rather good. The stars behind Vega weren't even visible, yet in this shot they are pretty static without any streaking.

First feeble attempt at M31. We only had 8 usable light frames exposed at ISO1600 for 30 seconds and 10 dark frames. We horribly needed many more long exposures to pull out the data. We'll get it next time. Canon 1DMKIII with 300mm f2.8L IS on my Losmandy G-11 mount.

Tele Vue NP-127is 25x6 mins Luminance. This shot needs about 10x more exposure time to be usable. In-town graidents make for a horrid shot. I will reshoot this at my observatory. The reason I posted this image uncropped is to have you explore the area around M101. I spotted 10 galaxies hiding around it! Click on the full resolution shot and look for yourself!
